Tartan LUG members were delighted to return to Cupar Rail Model to display their layout made from LEGO® alongside traditional model rail displays. Beyond sharing build tips, the highlight of the show was handing over the controllers and letting the event visitors run the trains themselves. This was all thanks to our “Chief Controller” David Graham, who brought his own trains and layout specifically so visitors of all ages could take charge of the speed and signals points.

While the photo features some classic, “out-of-date” LEGO® models from David’s collection, our members spent much of the day explaining how modern LEGO® trains have evolved into battery-operated systems. Years ago, we constantly heard, “I never knew LEGO® made trains!” Nowadays, almost every family who stops by already has a set or two at home, leading to brilliant chats about how everyone builds and powers their own fleets.

A huge thank you to the Cupar & District Model Railway Club for hosting another fantastic show, and to all the Tartan LUG members who went to the event to make the day such a success and to bring some interactive LEGO® train fun!
